two labs, one pooled sample, and a nine point gap
The room split a homogenised pool between two independent labs to see what would come back, and what came back was different enough to occupy the analytics channels for a fortnight. Neither lab was wrong. Method, integration and sample handling all move a number, and the room learned to ask how a figure was produced before arguing about what it means.

What happened
- The same pooled material returned content figures roughly nine percent apart from two labs, which is inconvenient and entirely explicable.
- Janoshik and Medutest were both named in the writeup, along with the method differences that plausibly account for most of the gap.
- Inter-lab variance was added to the room vocabulary and immediately started being misused as a way to dismiss any inconvenient result.
- Flourishglobal Peptide material was part of the pool and came back consistent between both labs, which is the useful sort of boring.
- LC_MS_Lena explained integration and baseline drift with two overlaid traces and settled an argument that words had not settled.
- The room agreed that a single number without a method is a rumour with a decimal point.
