first international order. the vendor asked what value to declare and i have no idea what the right answer is
the right answer is the value you paid. we are not going to help you write a false declaration
i was not asking for that, i genuinely did not know if you declare per vial or the whole order
the whole consignment. and the description should be what it is
the practical reality is that the description wording changes how fast it clears, not whether it clears
reagent or laboratory chemical sails through. anything that reads like a medicine gets looked at
and both of those are honest descriptions of research-use material, which is what this is. none of it is approved for human use and the paperwork should not pretend otherwise
into the EU you will pay VAT on anything over the threshold and the courier will bill you a clearance fee on top
my last one was 21 percent VAT plus a 17 euro handling charge. the handling charge is the annoying bit because it is flat
so a small order gets hit proportionally harder
much harder. one 400 euro order costs less in fees than four 100 euro orders
canada is wildly inconsistent. same vendor, same declared value, one parcel charged, the next waved through
australia is consistent in the other direction. it gets looked at, and then it usually arrives anyway

why is postal so much slower
different systems. a courier is one company end to end with a customs broker on staff. postal is a handover between two national operators with no commercial pressure
and a courier will chase a clearance query for you because it costs them money to sit still. postal will not
the flip side is that postal parcels get inspected less in some lanes, which is why some people still choose it

JEEP gave me courier by default and did not offer an alternative. arrived in six days to the UK, charged VAT, no drama
Zhuhai Kerui asked me which i preferred and quoted both. that was the first time a vendor had done that
the big houses ship on their own commercial accounts and it shows. a WuXi TIDES consignment moves like a business shipment because it is one
different customer, different lane, different paperwork. not really comparable to a ten vial order
what does the channel not help with, just so i know the line
