food noise coming back at a lower dose settled again after about four weeks for me, i have it written down somewhere
#maintenance 2025-11-22
i lift twice a week specifically because losing fast without it cost me more than i was willing to lose
i put 9 back on after stopping and then went back on it. it worked the same the second time round
how much regain did people get in the first 10 months after stopping
follow up i came off for four months, put 13 back on, and came back. no drama in it, just numbers
am i the only one finding maintenance harder than losing was
m0 118.4
m1 113.9
m2 110.2
m3 108.8
m4 108.1 <- the stall
m5 105.0
m6 101.6
m7 99.2how long did people stay at treatment dose after hitting goal
i weigh weekly at maintenance rather than daily and my range is about two kilos either side
harder than losing
resistance training two or three times a week is what the room converged on and it is not glamorous
thats STEP 1
Digest for the week of 2025-08-16 has been published.
i dropped from 15 to 7.5 for maintenance and held steady for fourteen months
if you find maintenance harder than the losing part you are in the majority in this room
coming back to this the maintenance conversation barely existed in here two years ago and now it is half the channel
the muscle question is the one i wish i had taken seriously at month two instead of month twelve
[edited]stopped 19 months ago and put 17 back on, what did people do at that point
did anyone drop the dose for maintenance or just stay where they were
*Janoshik not the other one
coming back to this anyone gone off entirely and stayed off successfully
coming back after 6 months of maintenance, is anyone interested in the numbers
still at maintenance
is a maintenance dose a real clinical thing or something we invented between us
ok so i went to every ten days at a low dose and it held for me. n of 1, and i keep saying that out loud
is this forever or is that just how it feels at month 22
my range is 31 and i stopped calling anything inside that a regain
does anyone lift specifically to hold onto muscle now that theyre maintaining
protein up not down
[edited]maintenance is harder than losing because there is no number going down to keep you interested
m0 118.4
m1 113.9
m2 110.2
m3 108.8
m4 108.1 <- the stall
m5 105.0
m6 101.6
m7 99.2holidays at maintenance are fine, i take the dose on the day and stop thinking about it, ill dig out the number
a 10mg vial at a 2mg maintenance dose is five weeks of doses, so my monthly cost roughly halved
regain after stopping is the expected outcome, which is a horrible sentence and also what the data says
coming down too fast was my mistake. top rung to the bottom rung inside a month and it was a bad month
whats your rule for when a fluctuation becomes a regain
i was wrong about maintenance being the easy part and i had said so loudly for a year beforehand
i set a trigger weight instead of a target. if i cross it i go up a rung. that is my entire plan, i have it written down somewhere
how much protein were people eating at maintenance compared to while losing
right so protein went up during maintenance for me rather than down, which was completely counterintuitive
sorry to jump in i tried to come down and could not hold it, went back to treatment dose, and stopped apologising for it
i think about it the way i think about my blood pressure tablet, and that framing helped me more than anything else
mine didnt hold
update on the earlier thing SURMOUNT-OSA is the one where they stopped and it came back isnt it, has anyone read the actual numbers
no data on that
genuine question if i go back up after regain does it work the same the second time
slightly off topic but appetite returning is not the drug failing, it is the drug doing less because you are taking less of it
lower frequency maintenance is genuinely unstudied. anybody telling you it is proven is making that up
cost did not drop at maintenance for me because i went to a lower dose from the same vial and just used it slower
there is no trial on every ten days or every fortnight. people here do it and report on it and that is all we have
anyone tried every ten days or every fortnight as a maintenance schedule
same as a bp tablet
SURMOUNT-OSA is the stopping one. weight came back on for most people once the drug stopped. that is the finding, not an opinion
everybody i have seen stop and hold it did something else as well, without exception in my time here, i think
ok so did your maintenance dose end up higher or lower than you expected it to
the maintenance conversation barely existed in here two years ago and now it is half the channel
went back up, no regrets
two or three kilos up and down is normal fluctuation. ten is a different conversation
the food noise came back at the lower dose, does it settle again
