thats SURPASS-2
#maintenance 2025-11-20
- gus_charts — coming back to this i was wrong about maintenance being the easy part and i had said so loudly for a year beforehand 22:52
- tenpence — coming down too fast was my mistake. top rung to the bottom rung inside a month and it was a bad month, thats just me 23:12
- gus_charts — protein went up during maintenance for me rather than down, which was completely counterintuitive 23:27
SURMOUNT-1 is the stopping one. weight came back on for most people once the drug stopped. that is the finding, not an opinion
sorry to jump in two or three kilos up and down is normal fluctuation. ten is a different conversation, happy to be corrected
maintenance is harder than losing because there is no number going down to keep you interested
maintenance is harder than losing because there is no number going down to keep you interested
same as a bp tablet
resistance training two or three times a week is what the room converged on and it is not glamorous
there is no trial on every ten days or every fortnight. people here do it and report on it and that is all we have
the honest answer to is this forever is that nobody knows and the drug only works while you are taking it
still at maintenance
did anyone regret dropping the dose too fast
follow up i think about it the way i think about my blood pressure tablet, and that framing helped me more than anything else
lift twice a week
coming back after 13 months of maintenance, is anyone interested in the numbers
does anyone budget for maintenance being cheaper or is it the same £55 a month
[edited]coming back to this i was wrong about maintenance being the easy part and i had said so loudly for a year beforehand
mine didnt hold
dropping to a maintenance dose was uneventful for me and completely miserable for somebody i talk to weekly
i weigh weekly at maintenance rather than daily and my range is about two kilos either side
update from 15 months ago: still at maintenance, still boring, which was always the goal
i tried to come down and could not hold it, went back to treatment dose, and stopped apologising for it
regain is expected
food noise coming back at a lower dose settled again after about four weeks for me
coming down too fast was my mistake. top rung to the bottom rung inside a month and it was a bad month, thats just me
did anyone drop the dose for maintenance or just stay where they were
a 10mg vial at a 2mg maintenance dose is five weeks of doses, so my monthly cost roughly halved
slightly off topic but i dropped from 2 to 10 for maintenance and held steady for fourteen months
resistance training two or three times a week is what the room converged on and it is not glamorous
whats a realistic amount of regain to accept rather than panic about
protein went up during maintenance for me rather than down, which was completely counterintuitive
weekly not daily
i lift twice a week specifically because losing fast without it cost me more than i was willing to lose
how much protein were people eating at maintenance compared to while losing
mine held
nobody here can tell you whether to stop. we can tell you what happened to us when we did, your mileage will differ
is there any trial data at all on a lower frequency schedule
*PeptideMeter not the other one
