Highlights from this day
  • protein_floor — somebody thanked me a year later for a two line message i do not remember writing and it has stayed with me 12:09
  • ms_ms_mira — my knees stopped hurting around 8 down and i had assumed that was permanent damage, ill dig out the number 12:31
  • knees_first — 26 down in 26 months and honestly the stairs were the bit that got me, not the scale 13:50
  • seven_five_sweet — the milestone that mattered was fitting an aeroplane seat without the extender, and i was embarrassed by how much somebody thanked me a year later for a two line… 14:38
NS

coming back to this i was down 22 at month six and then nothing at all for eleven weeks. it moved again. the eleven weeks were not a failure, your mileage will differ

PF

10kg is about 22lb and i still get that conversion wrong at least once a month

NS

the boring version is the useful one. slow, uneventful, still going

🧊22📈2

youre allowed to be pleased

still here at month 14

is there a point where you stop weighing daily

NS

STEP 4 reported roughly what i got, which surprised me, i had assumed the trial people all did better

PF

somebody thanked me a year later for a two line message i do not remember writing and it has stayed with me

MM

NS

my knees stopped hurting and i genuinely did not expect that, has anyone had the same

i was the one who nearly quit at week three and now i am the one saying hold, which i find funny

sorry to jump in i keep a pair of jeans from 2015 in the wardrobe as a measuring device and it is the only measurement i trust

DD

congratulations, genuinely. and thank you for putting the caveats in, most people do not bother, for what its worth

GG

nearly quit at week three, the nausea was awful, somebody here told me to hold rather than push. month 26 now

slightly off topic but down 72 total and about half of that came in the first four months. it slowed after that and that was fine, anyway

unrelated but the compliments were harder than i expected and nobody warns you about that part, your mileage will differ

MM

slightly off topic but the ring fitting again was worth more to me than any number on the scale ever was

GG

the thing nobody tells you is that the wins slow down and you have to learn to like the maintenance

*that should say weekly

KF

26 down in 26 months and honestly the stairs were the bit that got me, not the scale

brilliant a1c

i want to say something in here but im worried about sounding like im showing off
a1c 6.9 to 5.4 over ten months. not diabetic on paper anymore and i still do not quite believe it

KF

my milestone was tying my shoes sitting upright. it is not an endpoint in any trial

SF

the milestone that mattered was fitting an aeroplane seat without the extender, and i was embarrassed by how much
somebody thanked me a year later for a two line message i do not remember writing and it has stayed with me

EO

kept 33 of it off for 12 months now and that is the number i am actually proud of

EO

please say it. this channel exists for exactly this and nobody here is bored of hearing it

NS

how do you say youre pleased in here without it sounding like an advert

the win i did not expect was sleeping through the night. i had forgotten that was available

months not weeks

cpap pressure came down from 14 to 9 and the machine stopped waking me up in the night
