hold the crimp and try to rotate the aluminium. if it spins freely the seal is suspect

look at the stopper face for a dimple or a needle track. a vial that has already been entered will often show one

press the centre with a thumbnail. it should be firm and spring back. tacky or hard means the elastomer is off

then look at the cake edge against the glass. a clean puck with a defined edge is a good cycle. a smear up the wall is not
