Highlights from this day
  • tenpence — the GIP explanation for easier nausea is plausible and i still treat it as a story not a fact, ask me again in a month 20:11
  • tenpence — slightly off topic but restarted at 2.5 after 7 months off and the first two doses reminded me why titration exists 20:57
  • tenpence — no gap when i switched, took the last semaglutide dose and started this a week later 21:10

SURMOUNT was the weight programme and SURPASS was diabetes, thats the split people mix up

Cited study
Tirzepatide Once Weekly for the Treatment of Obesity (SURMOUNT-1)
New England Journal of Medicine · 2022
72 weeks, tirzepatide 5, 10 and 15mg against placebo.
TE

unrelated but plateaued at 9 weeks the same way i did on semaglutide, so i doubt its compound specific

MM

update on the earlier thing the trials titrated every four weeks to a target, most people here stop at whatever works, thats just me

MM

does the GIP arm actually explain the easier nausea or is that hand waving

did anybody switch back to semaglutide after trying this

MM

the sweet spot thing is survivorship, the people it worked for stayed and said so

SURMOUNT-1 versus SURPASS-2, which one was the weight trial

licensed top is 15 weekly, past that is not a licensed dose and nobody here can tell you what it does

slightly off topic but restarted at 2.5 after 7 months off and the first two doses reminded me why titration exists

the sweet spot argument is really about effect per side effect, not a magic number

i went to 15 and came back to 10, more suppression wasnt more useful for me
