Highlights from this day
  • back_from_away — does the seven day half life mean the last two days are weaker 06:49
  • orfor_watch — my plateau was the scale stopping while appetite stayed suppressed, which is a different problem 07:46
  • third_shift — FLOW was the kidney outcomes trial and it gets quoted in here for things it didnt measure, take that with a pinch of salt 10:18
  • bea_reconstitutes — STEP is several trials, so saying STEP said x is usually wrong without a number after it 11:49
  • back_from_away — i was wrong about the ceiling for a year, i thought 3 existed. it doesnt for the weight indication 11:54

if youre comparing brand to compounded, dose accuracy in the vial is the variable, not the molecule

going slow cost me nothing except time and saved me two bad weeks, thats my whole contribution

STEP 4 had the withdrawal arm, thats the one people quote when they talk about stopping

i held at 0.5 for 5 months and it was the best decision i made

BF

does the seven day half life mean the last two days are weaker

wk 1-4 0.25mg
wk 5-10 0.50mg (held 2 extra weeks)
wk 11-14 1.00mg
wk 15-26 1.70mg (held, long)
wk 27+ 2.40mg
DD

went to 2.4 and the extra suppression wasnt worth the GI for me, so i came back down

TS

does anyone actually run a five week step instead of four

🔥1

not the same trial

DD

my dose day drifted from friday to sunday, does that reset anything

OW

my plateau was the scale stopping while appetite stayed suppressed, which is a different problem

RS

my 5 vial in 1.5ml gives 2.5mg/ml so 10 lands on 15 units, thats why i picked that volume

BR

SELECT was cardiovascular outcomes in people with overweight and existing disease, not a weight trial

OW

held at 10 and lost 11lb over 11 months, slower than the trials and fine by me

whats the actual licensed ceiling, i keep seeing different numbers

TS

compounded and brand felt the same to me at 0.5, which is one person and nothing more

TS

i dont think the plateau is a dose problem most of the time, but i cant prove that

TS

the long half life flattens the trough more than people expect, i never felt a day seven dip

went too fast once

BF

changed my mind on the four week rule, i think it depends entirely on how the current dose feels

BR

STEP is several trials, so saying STEP said x is usually wrong without a number after it

Trial scheduleWhat most people here do
Step interval4 weeks, fixed4-12 weeks, on symptoms
Holdingprotocol deviationnormal and expected
Top dosereached by designoften never reached
Coming downnot studiedcommon at maintenance

lost about 26kg on the low doses before i even got to 1, which surprised me

the trials titrated on a fixed schedule, most people here dont, worth remembering when comparing

ST

dose day is sunday for me only because thats when i remember, not because sunday matters

ST

STEP 1 ran to 68 weeks. thats the one everyone half remembers
