Highlights from this day
  • forty_units — right so give it 9 minutes at room temperature before you decide it has not dissolved 22:51
  • forty_units — update from 13 months ago: switched to a single concentration and have not miscalculated since 22:52
  • quiet.hours — quick one my rule is one concentration for everything so i never have to think about it at 7am 23:04
  • VialBot — Purity check: no report on file for lot H-2814. Nothing logged either way. 23:09
  • no_appetite_nia — how much do i lose to dead space with a 30G pin 23:13

took me a year to stop over-diluting. the measurement error at 4 units is worse than the convenience, ill dig out the number

30mg in 3ml is 10mg/ml, so 5mg is 50 units. half the barrel, feels like a lot but its right

unrelated but i use bac water even for a single-use vial because it stings less, which is not the reason it exists

FM

ok so my vial pulled the water in on its own, is that the vacuum or did i do something

if you cannot read the mark confidently, your volume is too small. redo it at a lower concentration

RO

does it matter if i inject the bac water straight at the powder

FM

the vacuum will pull it in. let it. fighting it is how you get a face full of aerosol

do not add more bac water to an already reconstituted vial, you have lost track of the concentration

FT

is the meniscus reading actually a real source of error or am i overthinking

do i swirl for a specific length of time or just until its clear

U1

genuine question gross powder mass is not net peptide. water and counterion are in that number

FU

i was wrong about this last year: it is fine to draw cold, it just stings more going in

a 3ml syringe for the diluent and a u100 for the dose is the setup most people here end up with

*VendorInvestigate not the other one

right so give it 9 minutes at room temperature before you decide it has not dissolved

IS

i keep a spare vial of bac water in the fridge purely so i never rush the maths

VB

Batch lookup A-2601: 3 independent reports on file, earliest 2025-06-04.

genuine question i write the mg/ml on the vial with a sharpie the moment i reconstitute it

QH

quick one my rule is one concentration for everything so i never have to think about it at 7am

does temperature of the bac water matter at all

VB

Purity check: no report on file for lot H-2814. Nothing logged either way.

NA

thats 5mg/ml

how much do i lose to dead space with a 30G pin

FT

if the maths gives you 13.7 units, change the volume. do not try to hit 13.7

ZZ

while im here i have never once regretted using a rounder number and a slightly bigger volume

FM

update on the earlier thing lyophilised powder is far more robust than people think. it is the solution that is fragile

round numbers

ZZ

i swirl for about thirty seconds and then leave it. never had one fail to dissolve
if the powder is on the stopper, tap it down before you add anything. it will still dissolve either way

write the date on

sorry to jump in the meniscus thing is real. read it at eye level or you are guessing by a unit either way

ZZ

do you draw up with the same pin you inject with
the last few units are a real loss. i accept it rather than tilting the vial and drawing air

VO

if the powder is on the stopper, tap it down before you add anything. it will still dissolve either way

NE

10mg in 1ml is 10mg/ml, so 2.5mg is 25 units. thats the one i use, for what its worth

a slightly collapsed cake is cosmetic. a puddle in the bottom is not
