i was wrong about this last year: it is fine to draw cold, it just stings more going in
#reconstitution 2025-07-06
- drawup_dee — bac water or sterile water for something im going into weekly for 5 weeks 19:45
- back_from_away — anyone got a photo of what a properly dissolved vial looks like i use bac water even for a single-use vial because it stings less, which is not the reason it exists 19:50
- invoice_mismatch — the meniscus thing is real. read it at eye level or you are guessing by a unit either way my rule is one concentration for everything so i never have to think about… 20:09
i have never once regretted using a rounder number and a slightly bigger volume
weigh it first
nope, redo it
you can absolutely just always use 2ml, and honestly most of us should
can i add more bac water later to a vial ive already reconstituted
read it at eye level
i write the mg/ml on the vial with a sharpie the moment i reconstitute it, ask me again in a month
how long after reconstituting before its actually dissolved
label the date too. you will not remember which vial is which by week 20

if you draw up with a bigger pin and inject with a fresh one you lose a bit more to dead space
if the maths gives you 13.7 units, change the volume. do not try to hit 13.7

too dilute imo
weighing the vial before you reconstitute is the only way to catch an underfill

foam is bad
