Highlights from this day
  • slow.taper — 15mg in 3ml is 5mg/ml. same numbers as 10 in 2, just more of it 19:55
  • chlorhex — nobody here should be telling you a dose. we can check your arithmetic, thats a different thing 20:31
  • chlorhex — follow up how do you all measure a half unit, or do you just not 20:43

the meniscus thing is real. read it at eye level or you are guessing by a unit either way

coming back to this the powder is stuck to the stopper, do i care

i write the mg/ml on the vial with a sharpie the moment i reconstitute it

anyone got a photo of what a properly dissolved vial looks like

thats the vacuum

MN

30mg in 3ml is 10mg/ml, so 5mg is 50 units. half the barrel, feels like a lot but its right

TT

i was wrong about this last year: it is fine to draw cold, it just stings more going in, anyway

BB

weighing the vial before you reconstitute is the only way to catch an underfill

ST

aim the diluent at the glass wall, not at the powder. it goes in gentler

MN

is the meniscus reading actually a real source of error or am i overthinking

*Janoshik not the other one

CH

i have never once regretted using a rounder number and a slightly bigger volume

CH

can i add more bac water later to a vial ive already reconstituted

CH

i swirl for about thirty seconds and then leave it. never had one fail to dissolve

follow up how do you all measure a half unit, or do you just not

🧊9🧪9📉3

weigh it first

MN

i use bac water even for a single-use vial because it stings less, which is not the reason it exists

MN

bac water or sterile water for something im going into weekly for 7 weeks

MN

10mg in 2ml is 5mg/ml. so 0.5mg is 0.1ml which is 10 units on a u100

QH

while im here 10mg in 1ml is 10mg/ml, so 2.5mg is 25 units. thats the one i use

ST

if the powder is on the stopper, tap it down before you add anything. it will still dissolve either way

coming back after 16 months, has the pinned recon volume advice changed

VO

i keep a spare vial of bac water in the fridge purely so i never rush the maths

GV

update on the earlier thing pick the volume so your dose is a whole number of units. thats the entire trick, still working it out
