if the maths gives you 13.7 units, change the volume. do not try to hit 13.7, take that with a pinch of salt

- quiet.hours — 20mg in 2ml is 10mg/ml. 1mg is 10 units, 2mg is 20 units, easy, ill dig out the number 16:22
- mg_per_ml — if i add 3ml to a 15mg vial what concentration am i actually at 17:35
- mg_per_ml — took me a year to stop over-diluting. the measurement error at 4 units is worse than the convenience 17:52
- mg_per_ml — quick one do not add more bac water to an already reconstituted vial, you have lost track of the concentration 18:12
- quiet.hours — the jewellery scale is a good habit but calibrate it, they drift badly, from memory 19:44
anyone else find the 40mg vials harder to get fully dissolved than the small ones
10mg in 1ml is 10mg/ml, so 2.5mg is 25 units. thats the one i use
nope, redo it
why does everyone say 2ml specifically and not 1ml
20mg in 2ml is 10mg/ml. 1mg is 10 units, 2mg is 20 units, easy, ill dig out the number
[edited]thats fine
can i add more bac water later to a vial ive already reconstituted
do i swirl for a specific length of time or just until its clear
lyophilised powder is far more robust than people think. it is the solution that is fragile
benzyl alcohol is what makes it bacteriostatic. it is about 0.9% typically, ill dig out the number
it should be completely clear with no floaters. cloudy means stop
i swirl for about thirty seconds and then leave it. never had one fail to dissolve
it foamed. is it ruined
one unit is 0.01ml
read it at eye level
unrelated but swirl it. do not shake it. the foam is denatured protein and you are not getting it back
if i add 3ml to a 15mg vial what concentration am i actually at
took me a year to stop over-diluting. the measurement error at 4 units is worse than the convenience
does temperature of the bac water matter at all
quick one do not add more bac water to an already reconstituted vial, you have lost track of the concentration
the vacuum will pull it in. let it. fighting it is how you get a face full of aerosol
dead space in a standard insulin syringe hub is small but it is not nothing over a month
15mg in 3ml is 5mg/ml. same numbers as 10 in 2, just more of it
does benzyl alcohol matter if im finishing the vial in one go
i have never once regretted using a rounder number and a slightly bigger volume
not sterile water
dead space
foam is bad
does it matter if i inject the bac water straight at the powder
pick the volume so your dose is a whole number of units. thats the entire trick
i was wrong about this last year: it is fine to draw cold, it just stings more going in, we shall see
aim the diluent at the glass wall, not at the powder. it goes in gentler
bacteriostatic water for anything multi-use. sterile water has no preservative in it at all
[edited]how do you all measure a half unit, or do you just not
the jewellery scale is a good habit but calibrate it, they drift badly, from memory
thats 5mg/ml
5mg in 2ml gives 2.5mg/ml, 0.25mg is 10 units. good for a starting dose
unrelated but whats the smallest volume you would trust yourself to measure on a u100
my vial pulled the water in on its own, is that the vacuum or did i do something
