thats SURPASS-2
#maintenance 2025-09-03
- split_the_cost — how do you decide youre actually at maintenance rather than just stalled i lift twice a week specifically because losing fast without it cost me more than i was… 22:32
- spreadsheet_stu — did your maintenance dose end up higher or lower than you expected it to 22:38
- split_the_cost — there is no trial on every ten days or every fortnight. people here do it and report on it and that is all we have 23:01
- deadspace — does anyone lift specifically to hold onto muscle now that theyre maintaining 23:21
i was wrong about maintenance being the easy part and i had said so loudly for a year beforehand
did anyone drop the dose for maintenance or just stay where they were
[edited]is this forever or is that just how it feels at month 22
lift twice a week
if you find maintenance harder than the losing part you are in the majority in this room
how do you decide youre actually at maintenance rather than just stalled
i lift twice a week specifically because losing fast without it cost me more than i was willing to lose
i weigh weekly at maintenance rather than daily and my range is about two kilos either side
[edited]thats fluctuation
[edited]did your maintenance dose end up higher or lower than you expected it to
m0 118.4
m1 113.9
m2 110.2
m3 108.8
m4 108.1 <- the stall
m5 105.0
m6 101.6
m7 99.2come down slower than that
does anyone budget for maintenance being cheaper or is it the same $38 a month
SURPASS-2 is the one where they stopped and it came back isnt it, has anyone read the actual numbers
i think about it the way i think about my blood pressure tablet, and that framing helped me more than anything else
regain is expected
there is no official maintenance dose. it is a thing we do because the alternative on the table was stopping
same as a bp tablet
whats a realistic amount of regain to accept rather than panic about
holidays at maintenance are fine, i take the dose on the day and stop thinking about it
i stayed at treatment dose for four months past goal and then came down slowly. that order was right for me, i think
mine held
still at maintenance
right so i lift twice a week specifically because losing fast without it cost me more than i was willing to lose
protein up not down
there is no trial on every ten days or every fortnight. people here do it and report on it and that is all we have
i tried to come down and could not hold it, went back to treatment dose, and stopped apologising for it
protein went up during maintenance for me rather than down, which was completely counterintuitive
no data on that
a 10mg vial at a 2mg maintenance dose is five weeks of doses, so my monthly cost roughly halved
went back up, no regrets
regain after stopping is the expected outcome, which is a horrible sentence and also what the data says
coming back to this maintenance is harder than losing because there is no number going down to keep you interested, happy to be corrected
does anyone lift specifically to hold onto muscle now that theyre maintaining
how long did people stay at treatment dose after hitting goal
how much regain did people get in the first 1 months after stopping
genuine question cost did not drop at maintenance for me because i went to a lower dose from the same vial and just used it slower
appetite came back over about three weeks after i reduced, not all at once, which is what i had braced for
food noise coming back at a lower dose settled again after about four weeks for me
slightly off topic but appetite returning is not the drug failing, it is the drug doing less because you are taking less of it
i came off for four months, put 102 back on, and came back. no drama in it, just numbers
while im here nobody here can tell you whether to stop. we can tell you what happened to us when we did
set a trigger weight
mine didnt hold
the muscle question is the one i wish i had taken seriously at month two instead of month twelve
