Highlights from this day
  • surpass_two — anyone tracked their protein properly for a week and been shocked by the number 17:05
  • hydrate_hana — cold food is easier. i eat a lot of things at fridge temperature now and i cannot explain why that helps the room is quite firm about eating enough and i think that… 17:42
  • hydrate_hana — nobody here is your dietitian. we can tell you what we eat and what happened afterwards 17:44
  • no_chargeback — meal prep that survives early satiety, what actually works protein per meal matters more than per day once you are eating tiny amounts. i aim for 30 grams a sitting 17:45
  • two_ml_two — sarcopenia at my age, is that a real risk if im losing 34 in 5 months i front load protein. 40 grams at breakfast because by the evening i cannot face any of it 18:11
HH

coffee on an empty stomach with slowed gastric emptying is a rough combination. i eat something first now

HH

i stopped counting calories and started counting protein, and one number is much easier than two

ST

dexa or the bathroom bioimpedance thing, is the cheap one worth anything at all

ST

anyone tracked their protein properly for a week and been shocked by the number

Target weight1.6 g/kg1.8 g/kg
60 kg96 g108 g
70 kg112 g126 g
80 kg128 g144 g
90 kg144 g162 g
100 kg160 g180 g
HH

genuinely, eat more. nobody here will congratulate you for 700 calories and we have all watched somebody get hurt by it

HH

is 1.6 grams per kg the number everyone uses or did we make that up

creatine has nothing to do with any of this and i still take it. five grams, cheap, well studied

ST

sorry to jump in two proper resistance sessions a week is what the room settled on. three if you can manage it

HH

resistance training is not optional if you care what you look like at the end of this. my opinion, held strongly

HH

dexa twice a year if you can afford it. the cheap scale will tell you a new story every day and none of them are true

HH

cold food is easier. i eat a lot of things at fridge temperature now and i cannot explain why that helps
the room is quite firm about eating enough and i think that is the best thing about this channel

nobody here is your dietitian. we can tell you what we eat and what happened afterwards

the room is quite firm about eating enough and i think that is the best thing about this channel

🧊2

prep in portions a third of the size you think you need. big containers go in the bin uneaten

HH

i lift three times a week and my lifts dropped about ten percent while losing, then came back up

HH

sorry to jump in liquid protein was the thing that fixed this for me. a shake is food, it is not a shortcut

TM

sarcopenia at my age, is that a real risk if im losing 34 in 5 months
i front load protein. 40 grams at breakfast because by the evening i cannot face any of it

ST

at 90kg and 1.6 per kg you are looking at 144 grams. i have never once hit it on a bad appetite week

add salt

ST

resistance training twice a week, is that enough to hold lean mass

TM

coffee on an empty stomach is making me feel awful, is that the drug or is that just coffee

HH

coming back after 26 months, what did people change about food that stuck

HH

i cook normally and freeze it in small pots. the food is unchanged, the portion is the only difference, anyway

the risk with fast loss is lean mass, and the two things that touch it are protein and resistance work
