when i checked last year my local specialist service was quoting eighteen months to two years, and that was for a first appointment

the criteria included a bmi threshold plus comorbidities when i read them, and they have been revised since, so check rather than trust me
the mhra publishes supply notices. whether your pharmacy has read them is an entirely separate matter
coming back after 4 months, is the nhs picture any better
the seizure letters members have had here have been letters and nothing else, but that is our sample rather than a guarantee

i rang eleven pharmacies and the twelfth had it. that was one winter, and it is not a strategy
unlicensed in mhra terms means there is no uk marketing authorisation for that product. it is not the same as illegal and it is not the same as approved
unrelated but nobody here can tell you what your gp will do. the variation between practices is the whole story in england
the tier 3 referral needed my gp to actually make it, and that turned out to be harder than meeting the criteria

while im here northern ireland sits under different arrangements from great britain and those have changed more than once, so do not treat anything i say about it as current
i moved from private to nhs and the handover was messy. one experience in one area, nothing more than that
there was a two year limit in the nhs guidance i read. what happened at the end of it was not clear to me then and may be clearer now

update from 19 months ago: my clinic price went up by $38 and the supply steadied in the same month
ni has its own rules
unrelated but the private quotes i collected last spring ran from about 130 to about 250 a month depending on dose, and that will have moved since, from memory
the pharmacy gap in my area lasted about six weeks when i went through it, and it was member reported as nationwide at the time

ok so member reported tier 3 waits in england were all over the place, from nine months to nearly three years, as of about a year ago
i was wrong in here about what unlicensed meant for about six months until somebody sorted me out

cheapest legitimate route i found was a pharmacy led online service, and cheapest is only one axis of that decision

ok so scotland ran a different process from england when i looked into it, and a member there reported a shorter wait
the shortage was upstream of the pharmacies as far as anyone here could tell, and shouting at counter staff achieved nothing, i could be wrong
the honest position on uk policy is that it moved four times in the two years i have been paying attention, your mileage will differ
