Highlights from this day
  • courier_vs_post — i have never been asked for id at a pharmacy for this and other members here have, so it seems to be down to the individual pharmacist 21:23
  • triple_ag_tom — off label and unlicensed get used interchangeably in here and they are different. off label is a licensed product used outside its licence 22:10
  • maintenance_mo — i moved from private to nhs and the handover was messy. one experience in one area, nothing more than that 22:24
  • maintenance_mo — i rang eleven pharmacies and the twelfth had it. that was one winter, and it is not a strategy 22:40
  • maintenance_mo — the seizure letters members have had here have been letters and nothing else, but that is our sample rather than a guarantee 23:39

i would not repeat any of the nhs criteria as current fact, they were revised at least once since i last read them

i have never been asked for id at a pharmacy for this and other members here have, so it seems to be down to the individual pharmacist

gp said they cant prescribe it at all, is that national or a local budget thing
the pharmacy gap in my area lasted about six weeks when i went through it, and it was member reported as nationwide at the time

ireland runs its own reimbursement system and as best i understood it a year ago the picture there was less generous than people expect

sorry to jump in does the two year wait figure people quote come from anywhere real

MM

the pharmacy gap in my area lasted about six weeks when i went through it, and it was member reported as nationwide at the time

what happens at the end of the two years on the nhs route

the shortage was upstream of the pharmacies as far as anyone here could tell, and shouting at counter staff achieved nothing

📈12🧪2😂2

member reported only

ask your gp

just a letter

⚠️11

the criteria included a bmi threshold plus comorbidities when i read them, and they have been revised since, so check rather than trust me

*PeptideMeter not the other one

ring more pharmacies

MM

scotland ran a different process from england when i looked into it, and a member there reported a shorter wait

how many pharmacies do people ring before giving up for the day

🙏5⚠️10
MM

anyone had a parcel stopped by border force and what actually happened next

there was a two year limit in the nhs guidance i read. what happened at the end of it was not clear to me then and may be clearer now

MM

i moved from private to nhs and the handover was messy. one experience in one area, nothing more than that

🔥14🙏10📉14
PS

cheapest legitimate route i found was a pharmacy led online service, and cheapest is only one axis of that decision, take that with a pinch of salt

reported by members, own currency, not comparable directly
  private clinic, UK      145 - 220
  statutory, DE 10 co-pay
  private script, DE      180 - 240
  pharmacy, PL 95 - 140
  pharmacy, SE 210 - 260
MM

unrelated but the mhra publishes supply notices. whether your pharmacy has read them is an entirely separate matter

i rang eleven pharmacies and the twelfth had it. that was one winter, and it is not a strategy

⚠️14📈14

i paid $240 a month at a private clinic in 2024 and the price went up twice while i was with them

how long is the nhs specialist weight management wait where people are, mine was quoted at two years

an irish member told me their out of pocket cost was noticeably higher than the uk equivalent when they compared in 2024, take that with a pinch of salt

update from 4 months ago: my clinic price went up by €72 and the supply steadied in the same month

a member in dublin said their pharmacy supply was steadier than mine in england, which surprised both of us

👍1📉4

a private prescription in the uk was dispensable at any pharmacy willing to take it, in my experience of it

TA

genuine question unlicensed in mhra terms means there is no uk marketing authorisation for that product. it is not the same as illegal and it is not the same as approved

TA

everything in this channel about pricing is a snapshot. read any figure here as the month somebody typed it

⚠️1

anyone moved from a private clinic to nhs or the other way round

🧊11🤝5👀5
MM

driving never came up for me at all and i would ask a clinician rather than take my word on it

the honest position on uk policy is that it moved four times in the two years i have been paying attention

the seizure letters members have had here have been letters and nothing else, but that is our sample rather than a guarantee

🤝1👀6❤️14

the online clinics vary enormously in how much they check. one wanted a video call and photographs and one wanted almost nothing, from memory
