Highlights from this day
  • cold_pack_carla — is the irish price genuinely higher or is that a currency thing 01:12
  • logrotate — i paid £94 a month at a private clinic in 2024 and the price went up twice while i was with them 01:59
  • logrotate — northern ireland sits under different arrangements from great britain and those have changed more than once, so do not treat anything i say about it as current 03:37
  • void_volume — ok so the online clinics vary enormously in how much they check. one wanted a video call and photographs and one wanted almost nothing 05:39
  • void_volume — has anyone been asked for id at a pharmacy counter for this 06:46
CP

the tier 3 referral needed my gp to actually make it, and that turned out to be harder than meeting the criteria

i would not repeat any of the nhs criteria as current fact, they were revised at least once since i last read them

the criteria included a bmi threshold plus comorbidities when i read them, and they have been revised since, so check rather than trust me

VV

pharmacy has had nothing for three weeks, is that everywhere or just my bit of the country

VB

Purity check: no report on file for lot D-0718. Nothing logged either way.

LO

scotland ran a different process from england when i looked into it, and a member there reported a shorter wait

CP

when i checked last year my local specialist service was quoting eighteen months to two years, and that was for a first appointment

border force stopped a parcel of mine and sent a letter, and that was the whole of it. no follow up and no knock at the door, thats one data point

LO

an irish member told me their out of pocket cost was noticeably higher than the uk equivalent when they compared in 2024

LO

everything in this channel about pricing is a snapshot. read any figure here as the month somebody typed it

i was wrong in here about what unlicensed meant for about six months until somebody sorted me out, we shall see

LO

private clinic quoted me €72 a month, is that about right or am i being had
update from 17 months ago: my clinic price went up by £240 and the supply steadied in the same month

member reported only

LO

quick one does the two year wait figure people quote come from anywhere real

LO

member reported tier 3 waits in england were all over the place, from nine months to nearly three years, as of about a year ago

unlicensed in mhra terms means there is no uk marketing authorisation for that product. it is not the same as illegal and it is not the same as approved
update from 6 months ago: my clinic price went up by €240 and the supply steadied in the same month

off label is different

VV

is the pharmacy supply gap the manufacturer or the wholesalers

LO

what does unlicensed actually mean when the mhra uses the word

LO

driving never came up for me at all and i would ask a clinician rather than take my word on it

northern ireland sits under different arrangements from great britain and those have changed more than once, so do not treat anything i say about it as current

reported by members, own currency, not comparable directly
  private clinic, UK      145 - 220

  private script, DE      180 - 240
  pharmacy, PL 95 - 140
  pharmacy, SE 210 - 260
BB

i moved from private to nhs and the handover was messy. one experience in one area, nothing more than that

ireland runs its own reimbursement system and as best i understood it a year ago the picture there was less generous than people expect
unlicensed in mhra terms means there is no uk marketing authorisation for that product. it is not the same as illegal and it is not the same as approved

sorry to jump in the pharmacy gap in my area lasted about six weeks when i went through it, and it was member reported as nationwide at the time

VV

wales was reported in here as slower to get started and steadier once you were in, and that was second hand

ok so the online clinics vary enormously in how much they check. one wanted a video call and photographs and one wanted almost nothing

has anyone been asked for id at a pharmacy counter for this

🔥8❤️14

cheapest legitimate route i found was a pharmacy led online service, and cheapest is only one axis of that decision
