Highlights from this day
  • void_volume — i would not repeat any of the nhs criteria as current fact, they were revised at least once since i last read them 19:55
  • slow.taper — the shortage was upstream of the pharmacies as far as anyone here could tell, and shouting at counter staff achieved nothing 19:58
  • slow.taper — i was wrong in here about what unlicensed meant for about six months until somebody sorted me out 20:09
  • VialBot — New independent result logged — SWB, lot B-0329, purity 99% (PeptideMeter). 21:30
  • assay_not_purity — the mhra publishes supply notices. whether your pharmacy has read them is an entirely separate matter 22:24
DD

vat was not charged on the private prescription i saw, but i am the wrong person to ask about tax

ok so a member in dublin said their pharmacy supply was steadier than mine in england, which surprised both of us

SB

sorry to jump in is the pharmacy supply gap the manufacturer or the wholesalers

VV

northern ireland sits under different arrangements from great britain and those have changed more than once, so do not treat anything i say about it as current, n of 1 obviously

SB

border force stopped a parcel of mine and sent a letter, and that was the whole of it. no follow up and no knock at the door

VV

ok so when i checked last year my local specialist service was quoting eighteen months to two years, and that was for a first appointment

DD

nobody here can tell you what your gp will do. the variation between practices is the whole story in england

DD

i moved from private to nhs and the handover was messy. one experience in one area, nothing more than that, thats one data point

DD

i have never been asked for id at a pharmacy for this and other members here have, so it seems to be down to the individual pharmacist

genuine question off label and unlicensed get used interchangeably in here and they are different. off label is a licensed product used outside its licence

whats the cheapest legitimate private route people have found in the uk

TA

driving never came up for me at all and i would ask a clinician rather than take my word on it

i would not repeat any of the nhs criteria as current fact, they were revised at least once since i last read them

ST

there was a two year limit in the nhs guidance i read. what happened at the end of it was not clear to me then and may be clearer now

i was wrong in here about what unlicensed meant for about six months until somebody sorted me out

📉10😂1

member reported only

VV

unrelated but the online clinics vary enormously in how much they check. one wanted a video call and photographs and one wanted almost nothing

ST

as of when i last looked, nhs access ran through specialist weight management services and the criteria were tight

ST

ok so pharmacy has had nothing for three weeks, is that everywhere or just my bit of the country

FA

scotland ran a different process from england when i looked into it, and a member there reported a shorter wait

[edited]
FA

follow up whats the position on driving, is there anything anyone had to declare

🙏1❤️7
SO

for the archive the seizure letters members have had here have been letters and nothing else, but that is our sample rather than a guarantee, ask me again in a month

ST

the pharmacy gap in my area lasted about six weeks when i went through it, and it was member reported as nationwide at the time

SO

member reported tier 3 waits in england were all over the place, from nine months to nearly three years, as of about a year ago

SO

i rang eleven pharmacies and the twelfth had it. that was one winter, and it is not a strategy

wales was reported in here as slower to get started and steadier once you were in, and that was second hand

AN

update from 9 months ago: my clinic price went up by €240 and the supply steadied in the same month

SO

the private quotes i collected last spring ran from about 130 to about 250 a month depending on dose, and that will have moved since

MS

the tier 3 referral needed my gp to actually make it, and that turned out to be harder than meeting the criteria, still working it out

VV

the honest position on uk policy is that it moved four times in the two years i have been paying attention
