SURMOUNT-OSA was the sleep apnoea trial and it is not a weight headline however its quoted

i sat at 7.5 for 26 months and never needed more, which is where the folklore comes from

Cited study
Tirzepatide Once Weekly for the Treatment of Obesity (SURMOUNT-1)
New England Journal of Medicine · 2022
72 weeks, tirzepatide 5, 10 and 15mg against placebo.

the trials titrated every four weeks to a target, most people here stop at whatever works

i went to 15 and came back to 10, more suppression wasnt more useful for me

the 2.5 to 5 step was the roughest one for me and everything after was easier

switched from 15 semaglutide and started at 2.5, took the slow route, never regretted it

7.5 gang

[edited]
wk 1-4 2.5mg
wk 5-8 5.0mg
wk 9-20 7.5mg <- stayed here
wk 21-24 10.0mg (no extra benefit for me)
wk 25+ 7.5mg (came back down)

coming back to this at 15 the GI came back for me, so my easier profile claim only applies below that

is SURMOUNT-OSA the sleep apnoea one

dual agonist, GIP as well as GLP-1, thats the whole difference in one line

the sweet spot argument is really about effect per side effect, not a magic number
held 10 for 25 months and lost 10kg over that stretch, slow and boring and fine

did anyone find the GI easier than semaglutide at an equivalent effect

did anyone go past 15 and was there any point to it

AN

the sweet spot thing is survivorship, the people it worked for stayed and said so

*Medutest not the other one

genuine question the GI difference held for me right up to 15, which isnt what a couple of people here found

if youre coming off semaglutide the honest answer is start low and find out, theres no table

*Janoshik not the other one

update on the earlier thing SURMOUNT was the weight programme and SURPASS was diabetes, thats the split people mix up

QH

there is no clean conversion between the two, anyone giving you a ratio is guessing

PN

plateaued at 12 weeks the same way i did on semaglutide, so i doubt its compound specific

PN

while im here at 0.25 my appetite went completely and i dropped back a step, eating nothing isnt a win

GB

no gap when i switched, took the last semaglutide dose and started this a week later

GB

40 units of a 8 solution is a lot of volume and i check that one twice every single time
