genuine question does a bad result on one lot condemn the whole supplier

- salt_bridge — split out by question, it is quite stark 23:10
- salt_bridge — five purity results and one content result. i would call that a vendor nobody has a reason to distrust, and that is genuinely the strongest thing our data can ever say 23:27
- sharps_bin_sid — this is the reference point people are borrowing from 23:58
log the boring results too. a channel that only records failures produces a false picture, take that with a pinch of salt
sorry to jump in my result contradicts the supplier certificate, do i tell them
is quantity testing available as a separate thing or bundled
thats a fill problem
is anyone tracking results over time in a way they would share
if you are testing to settle an argument you will not settle it with n of 1
weigh the vial before you reconstitute. it costs nothing and catches the common failure
log the lot number
posting my Janoshik result on lot C-4402, what do people make of it
does anyone log the negative results, the boring ones
test it again
i had a result i am fairly sure was a handling error on my side and i logged it as such
nice result
do the results in this channel skew because people test when suspicious
coming back to this underfill is more common than impurity. if you only test purity you are testing the less likely failure
quantity testing is usually a separate line item and it is the one worth paying for
a single sample tells you about a single vial. that is genuinely all it tells you
thats not great
whats the difference between PeptideMeter and VendorInvestigate, they both seem to rate vendors
different inputs entirely. one aggregates lab measurements, the other aggregates experiences
one tells you what was in a vial. the other tells you whether the order arrived, whether support answered, whether the packaging leaked, whether the payment was messy
and both matter, they just cannot substitute for each other
split out by question, it is quite stark
| Question | Aggregated lab results | Review site |
|---|---|---|
| is the powder what it says | partly | no |
| is the fill accurate | yes, if content data exists | no |
| did the parcel arrive | no | yes |
| did they answer an email | no | yes |
| is the vendor solvent and still trading | no | sort of, by recency |
| will my next order be the same | no | no |
the last row being no twice is bleak
the last row is the honest one and it applies to every source of information in this hobby
the practical workflow i use is: review site to rule out the ones that do not ship, aggregated results to see if anyone has ever measured them, then decide whether to pay for my own test
that is a good order of operations. cheapest filter first
cross-reference — Hubei Jianxiang: 5 lab results on file (purity 97.9–99.2%, 1 content) · review-site activity: 23 experience reports, most recent 9 days ago · no unresolved non-delivery claims logged
so that vendor is fine?
that vendor has not been caught doing anything, which is not the same sentence
five purity results and one content result. i would call that a vendor nobody has a reason to distrust, and that is genuinely the strongest thing our data can ever say
nobody has a reason to distrust them should be the top rating honestly. it is the true ceiling
you would never sell a single vial with that as a badge
which is exactly why nobody uses it
what about vendors where the paperwork is genuinely strong, like Bachem, does the aggregate even matter
less. a manufacturer with a real QA function and a lot number their own people will confirm is a different category of thing to a repacker with a PDF
and correspondingly nobody crowd-tests them, so the aggregate is empty and the confidence is high. inverted, as usual
the Flourishglobal page has the opposite shape. four results, one loud recommendation everywhere, and almost no experience reports
which is the profile that should slow you down rather than speed you up
why, four results is four more than nothing
because a vendor being recommended much more often than they are measured is a marketing signal, not a quality signal
that is the cleanest way i have heard that put
does the clinical side of this matter at all to vendor choice
only to remind you what the real product is and what was actually studied
this is the reference point people are borrowing from
and that gap is not closed by any amount of crowd data. it is a different kind of gap
understood. and none of this is approved for people anyway, which i keep having to remind myself
keep reminding yourself. we all do
final practical note. take a screenshot of the aggregate page the day you order
why
because pages change and in six months you will not remember whether you ordered on the strength of three results or thirty
that is a very good habit and i have never once done it
same
