Highlights from this day
  • logrotate — the shape of it. these are community conventions, not stability data on your specific vial 18:38
  • logrotate — because it depends on the peptide, the diluent, the concentration, and how many times you punctured the stopper 19:00
  • lean_mass_lex — four to six and use it up. if you are still on a vial at week ten, you diluted too much 20:07

a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation
buy a thermometer. mine reads 4.8 on the door and two degrees lower at the back

how cold is too cold, can it actually freeze in a normal fridge

solution is not

GG

i log the fridge temperature daily and the room has never let me forget it

hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct

a liquid cold pack tells you it was above freezing, not that your vial cooked

for the archive the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves

i left it out overnight by accident, bin it or use it

log it

mon 4.1 / door 7.2
tue 4.0 / door 7.8
wed 4.2 / door 6.9
thu 3.9 / door 7.4
fri 4.1 / door 8.1 <- shopping day
sat 4.3 / door 7.0
sun 4.0 / door 6.8
VV

two to eight degrees. most domestic fridge doors are not in that range and people do not check

StateConditionWhat people here work to
lyophilised powder2-8 C, darklong. months and up if the seal held
lyophilised powderroom temp, in transitdays to weeks is fine, it is why it ships dry
reconstituted2-8 C, darkcommonly treated as good for about 4-6 weeks

because it depends on the peptide, the diluent, the concentration, and how many times you punctured the stopper

LO

a manufacturer who runs stability studies gets a number for one exact formulation. we do not have that

VV

the licensed pens have a printed in-use window and people quote it at everything. it does not transfer

LM

same molecule, completely different formulation and container. not the same thing

LM

four to six and use it up. if you are still on a vial at week ten, you diluted too much

LO

peptides are not especially photostable and the vials are usually clear glass

LM

mine lives in an opaque tub in the fridge door, which i am told is the wrong shelf

LO

a dorm fridge door can cycle several degrees over a day. buy a thermometer, they are a few quid

LM

mine reads 3 to 7 across a day and i still think that is fine. that range is inside spec

LO

it is. the problem is the people who assume and never look. mine sat at 11C for a month

the whole point is knowing rather than believing
