  • nausea_window — hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct 17:31
  • quiet_head_qi — how do you keep it cold on a long drive in summer i keep everything at the back of the middle shelf, never the door 17:34

for flying, hand luggage every time. the hold is not temperature controlled the way people assume

powder is robust

back of the fridge

QH

sorry to jump in reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep

QH

the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted

QH

buy a thermometer. mine reads 6.2 on the door and two degrees lower at the back

Verification log updated: CPC — evidence added, status unchanged.

QH

i have never had a lyophilised vial fail after a warm transit and i have had some bad ones

MP

the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season you are in

QH

i left a reconstituted vial out overnight once, sent it for testing out of curiosity, it came back fine, happy to be corrected

MP

a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation

CC

slightly off topic but does anyone freeze reconstituted vials or is that madness
