Highlights from this day
  • impersonator_ip — lyophilised powder is genuinely robust. a warm transit is far less likely to matter than people fear 21:43
  • sharps_comedy — hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct nobody here can tell you a vial is safe. we can tell you… 21:49
  • sharps_comedy — for flying, hand luggage every time. the hold is not temperature controlled the way people assume, ask me again in a month 21:55
  • steady_state_sue — how cold is too cold, can it actually freeze in a normal fridge 22:04
  • nausea_window — buy a thermometer. mine reads 4 on the door and two degrees lower at the back, someone check my working 22:42

reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep

nobody here can tell you a vial is safe. we can tell you what has and has not survived for us

what temperature does a domestic fridge door actually swing to

a few hours at room temperature is almost certainly nothing. a week is a different conversation

is there a difference in stability between the compounds

*Medutest not the other one

do i need to worry about light exposure or is that overthinking

[edited]

buy a thermometer. mine reads 4 on the door and two degrees lower at the back, someone check my working

two to eight degrees. most domestic fridge doors are not in that range and people do not check

FA

freeze thaw cycling is the risk, not one freeze. that is my read of it anyway, happy to be corrected
