two to eight degrees. most domestic fridge doors are not in that range and people do not check

- vik_verifies — a cooler with two gel packs held under eight degrees for eleven hours on a drive 21:47
- two_ml_two — power cut with the door shut for a few hours is fine. a full fridge holds temperature surprisingly well 22:32
- two_ml_two — unrelated but coming back after 19 months, is the pinned storage table still current 22:45
i freeze aliquots and have had them test fine afterwards. others here would not do it and i understand why
power cut with the door shut for a few hours is fine. a full fridge holds temperature surprisingly well
hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct
my fridge is running at 4, is that out of range
do you keep the unopened vials and the in-use one in the same place
[edited]follow up does the amber vial thing matter or is it marketing
anyone had a vial visibly change after a warm transit
what temperature does a domestic fridge door actually swing to
a cooler with two gel packs held under eight degrees for eleven hours on a drive
freeze debate again
i left a reconstituted vial out overnight once, sent it for testing out of curiosity, it came back fine
my fridge is 4.8
| Condition | Lyophilised | Reconstituted |
|---|---|---|
| 2-8 °C | fine, long term | fine, weeks |
| Room temp, days | fine in every report here | reported fine, shorter |
| Room temp, weeks | reported fine | do not |
| Warm transit, 30 °C+ | no failure logged | one visible degradant peak |
| Frozen once | fine | contested, no consensus |
| Freeze-thaw cycled | fine | the room says no |
i would use it
power cut with the door shut for a few hours is fine. a full fridge holds temperature surprisingly well
reconstituted solution is the fragile part. that is where the cold chain actually earns its keep
the door swings four or five degrees every time somebody opens it. the back barely moves
unrelated but coming back after 19 months, is the pinned storage table still current
lyophilised powder is genuinely robust. a warm transit is far less likely to matter than people fear
i would bin it
