Highlights from this day
  • quiet_head_qi — hotel minibars are frequently not cold enough. i take a thermometer, which is ridiculous and also correct 12:34
  • mira_pins — follow up the vial that visibly changed after a warm transit was the one that had already been reconstituted 13:53
  • quiet_head_qi — the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season you are in 14:01
  • quiet_head_qi — quick one i freeze aliquots and have had them test fine afterwards. others here would not do it and i understand why 14:55
  • gip_glp_gil — does anyone freeze reconstituted vials or is that madness 16:04

nobody here can tell you a vial is safe. we can tell you what has and has not survived for us

GC

do i need to worry about light exposure or is that overthinking

AA

if you are worried after a bad transit, test it. that is what the testing channels are for, ymmv

MP

for flying, hand luggage every time. the hold is not temperature controlled the way people assume

thats fine

🔥1511

log it

two to eight

i have never had a lyophilised vial fail after a warm transit and i have had some bad ones

QH

the practical risk in winter shipping is freezing, and in summer it is heat. plan for the season you are in

🙏2

i keep everything at the back of the middle shelf, never the door

HL

i left a reconstituted vial out overnight once, sent it for testing out of curiosity, it came back fine

HL

update from 8 months ago: replaced the fridge, temperature is stable, no more anxiety

QH

quick one i freeze aliquots and have had them test fine afterwards. others here would not do it and i understand why

GG

a cooler with two gel packs held under eight degrees for eleven hours on a drive

*VendorInvestigate not the other one

freeze thaw cycling is the risk, not one freeze. that is my read of it anyway

*that should say weekly

lyophilised at room temp for 26 days in transit, worried or not

WN

i log the fridge temperature daily and the room has never let me forget it
