Highlights from this day
  • seizure_letter — paying for a faster service does not speed up customs. it speeds up the legs either side of customs 22:32
  • rotterdam_recon — split shipments arriving weeks apart is normal and is usually a stock thing, not a customs thing 22:38
  • taper_tess — tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time, take that with a pinch of salt 22:54
  • seizure_letter — got a seizure letter, what actually happens next 23:19
  • ring_size_down — reship policies vary enormously. ERP honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal 23:23

customs charge came to $185, is that normal for Japan

while im here a port stall is not the same as a customs hold and the tracking language usually distinguishes them

*Medutest not the other one

postal has been better than courier for me every single time. couriers are more thorough

for the archive vat is usually charged on declared value plus shipping, and the handling fee is often more than the vat

RR

nobody here can tell you what will clear customs where you live and the mods stop that conversation quickly

SL

got a seizure letter, what actually happens next

d0 label created
d2 accepted, origin
d4 departed origin
d6 in transit
d6-16 nothing at all
d17 arrived destination country
d19 customs cleared
d21 delivered
RR

the transit table is pinned and built from what members actually reported, not from what suppliers quote
