Highlights from this day
  • coa_or_cope — right so if you query a missing parcel, be factual and patient. the good suppliers respond to that paying for a faster service does not speed up customs. it speeds up… 22:11
  • homa_ir_hugo — while im here does Homopeptide actually honour a reship or is it decorative 22:19
  • ollie_orders — vat is usually charged on declared value plus shipping, and the handling fee is often more than the vat 22:58
CV

nobody here can tell you what will clear customs where you live and the mods stop that conversation quickly
tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time

coming back after 8 months, has anything changed with Ireland

sorry to jump in how long is transit to Spain running at the moment

CO

summer into a hot country is the risk. order in a cooler month if you have the choice, we shall see

📉2🧪4🤝4
CV

the transit table is pinned and built from what members actually reported, not from what suppliers quote

*that should say weekly

CO

a port stall is not the same as a customs hold and the tracking language usually distinguishes them

tracking has been dark for 4 days, at what point do i worry

be patient with support

paying for a faster service does not speed up customs. it speeds up the legs either side of customs

[edited]

i declare it as what it is at a low value. we do not discuss wording beyond that here

no wording advice here

while im here how many parcels have people lost in total

RT

the same address every time is fine. a different address every time looks worse, not better

handling fee is the killer

💀5

what happened when you queried a missing parcel with the supplier

RT

for the archive anyone had a split shipment arrive weeks apart

❤️9👀7

got a seizure letter, what actually happens next
9 days to the Netherlands with working tracking the whole way is at the good end of what i have seen

a liquid cold pack tells you it was above freezing, not that the vial cooked. lyophilised powder is robust

CV

winter shipping into a cold country risks freezing, which is a different problem from heat and gets discussed less, ill dig out the number

RT

the parcel is the risk you accepted. that is worth remembering before it becomes a crisis

HI

while im here does Homopeptide actually honour a reship or is it decorative

14 days to Singapore with working tracking the whole way is at the good end of what i have seen

CO

is it worth paying for a faster service or does customs eat the difference

MU

split shipments arriving weeks apart is normal and is usually a stock thing, not a customs thing

reship policies vary enormously. GL Biochem honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal

CO

update on the earlier thing postal has been better than courier for me every single time. couriers are more thorough, not advice obviously

🤝1

*Medutest not the other one

tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time

give it another week

update on the earlier thing parcel is sitting at a port with no movement, is that customs or just a port

thats the end of it

CV

a seizure letter is usually the end of it. you have lost the parcel and that is almost always the whole consequence

OO

vat is usually charged on declared value plus shipping, and the handling fee is often more than the vat
