Highlights from this day
  • van_isle_vial — i had a parcel marked returned that arrived eleven days later. it happens 20:03
  • maintenance_mo — does KP actually honour a reship or is it decorative 20:15
  • logrotate — unrelated but if you query a missing parcel, be factual and patient. the good suppliers respond to that split shipments arriving weeks apart is normal and is usually… 21:38

i declare it as what it is at a low value. we do not discuss wording beyond that here

handling fee is the killer

BS

follow up signature requirements slow things down and do not obviously reduce loss

genuine question postal has been better than courier for me every single time. couriers are more thorough

MM

the same address every time is fine. a different address every time looks worse, not better

tracking has been dark for 5 days, at what point do i worry

does KP actually honour a reship or is it decorative

the transit table is pinned and built from what members actually reported, not from what suppliers quote

be patient with support

what does the room consider a normal transit time now

PP

parcel is sitting at a port with no movement, is that customs or just a port

PP

cold pack arrived warm after 12 days, does it matter

SS

vat is usually charged on declared value plus shipping, and the handling fee is often more than the vat

MM

quick one i have lost 6 parcels in three years across a lot of orders. that is the actual rate for me, take that with a pinch of salt

split shipments arriving weeks apart is normal and is usually a stock thing, not a customs thing

MM

6 days to Sweden with working tracking the whole way is at the good end of what i have seen

nobody here can tell you what will clear customs where you live and the mods stop that conversation quickly

thats a stock split

customs charge came to $38, is that normal for Japan

has anyone had a parcel arrive after being marked as returned

PM

winter shipping into a cold country risks freezing, which is a different problem from heat and gets discussed less

summer into a hot country is the risk. order in a cooler month if you have the choice

NC

a liquid cold pack tells you it was above freezing, not that the vial cooked. lyophilised powder is robust

PM

coming back after 20 months, has anything changed with New Zealand

BS

paying for a faster service does not speed up customs. it speeds up the legs either side of customs

LO

update from 18 months ago: Singapore transit has got slower, consistently, across four orders

do you use the same address every time

no wording advice here

reship policies vary enormously. TFC honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal

ports do that

BS

a port stall is not the same as a customs hold and the tracking language usually distinguishes them, from memory
