Highlights from this day
  • slow.taper — ok so does a signature requirement help or hurt 11:12
  • acetate_ash — 14 days to Australia with working tracking the whole way is at the good end of what i have seen 13:19
  • ghent_gradient — a seizure letter is usually the end of it. you have lost the parcel and that is almost always the whole consequence 14:59
  • acetate_ash — how many parcels have people lost in total 15:04
  • acetate_ash — do you use the same address every time 15:40
VO

follow up is vat charged on the declared value or what they think it is worth

split shipments arriving weeks apart is normal and is usually a stock thing, not a customs thing, thats one data point

how long is transit to the UK running at the moment

parcel is sitting at a port with no movement, is that customs or just a port

has anyone had a parcel arrive after being marked as returned

🎉1😂2👍7
VO

genuine question anyone shipping into Ireland in summer and what do you do about it

ST

the same address every time is fine. a different address every time looks worse, not better

i have lost 4 parcels in three years across a lot of orders. that is the actual rate for me

be patient with support

AA

a port stall is not the same as a customs hold and the tracking language usually distinguishes them

tracking going dark for a week or ten days at a port is common and resolves on its own most of the time

reship policies vary enormously. FGP honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal

does QST actually honour a reship or is it decorative

BB

signature requirements slow things down and do not obviously reduce loss

GG

follow up what does the room consider a normal transit time now
reship policies vary enormously. HJ honoured one for me without being pushed, which is not universal

AA

update from 22 months ago: Australia transit has got slower, consistently, across four orders

AA

summer into a hot country is the risk. order in a cooler month if you have the choice

winter shipping into a cold country risks freezing, which is a different problem from heat and gets discussed less
