rules are short
#rules 2026-03-19
- swirl_not_shake — that is the whole rulebook and it has not changed in three years 19:27
- swirl_not_shake — and crucially, it means when it goes wrong, it went wrong for them and not because a stranger told them to 20:38
- marrow.mod — thats a genuinely good way to end a disagreement and im leaving both sides of it in the log 21:16
does the no advice rule mean nobody can tell me anything useful
i used to think the private message rule was theatre. then someone lost €185 to a private offer
if you think youre being sold to, say it out loud where everyone can read it
slightly off topic but is rule one about sourcing or about private messages, i cant tell which
can i ask about a specific batch in here or does that go to verification
borderline honestly
am i allowed to argue with a mod in the channel or should i take it elsewhere
no, thats allowed
am i breaking a rule if i ask what dose someone else went to
unrelated but sellers dont get warned because sellers arent confused, theyre working, happy to be corrected
if a rule changed would we be told or does it just quietly change
changes get announced. quiet edits would defeat the point of publishing the logs, thats one data point
i pushed back on rule two and got a better answer than i expected, then still disagreed slightly
genuine question, wheres the line between reporting what happened and giving advice
can i talk about prices at all or does that drift into sourcing
reposting the short version because we have a lot of new people this month
one. no sourcing in DMs. if you want to talk about where something came from, do it in a channel where other people can see it
two. nobody gives medical advice. share what happened to you, not what someone else should do
three. no unsolicited selling. if you are here to find customers, you are in the wrong place and you will not be here long
that is the whole rulebook and it has not changed in three years
why is DM sourcing the first one. it seems like the least harmful
because every scam this community has ever seen happened in a DM
every single one. a private conversation removes the only real protection you have, which is other people reading it
ok that reframes it entirely
there is also a nastier version. someone helpful in public, then a DM saying they can get you a better price
that pattern has cost members here real money and it only works in private
im going to push back on rule two a bit
go on
when someone asks whether nausea at week two is normal and four people say yes it was for me, thats functionally advice
pretending it isnt feels a bit like a legal fiction
its a fair challenge and i dont think its a fiction, i think its a line about grammar
this happened to me is a report. you should do this is an instruction. the first is what we are for and the second is what we are not
and when someone reads four reports and treats them as an instruction?
then they have made a decision with information, which is the best any of us manage. what we wont do is make the decision for them
and crucially, it means when it goes wrong, it went wrong for them and not because a stranger told them to
i still think its slightly convenient for us
it is slightly convenient for us. it is also the reason this place still exists and a lot of similar places dont
fine. i accept that as an answer even though it isnt the answer i wanted
thats a genuinely good way to end a disagreement and im leaving both sides of it in the log
what actually happens if someone breaks one
for one and two, a note and usually thats it. people forget, its fine
for three, removal. we do not warn sellers because sellers are not confused, they are working
and if you think you are being sold to, say so in the channel. publicly. that is the entire immune system
does the no-advice rule mean nobody can tell me anything useful
it means nobody will tell you what to take. everything else, the maths, the trials, the storage, the prices, the failures, is all here
the useful stuff is not the instruction. it never was
noted, and thanks for arguing about it in front of me rather than deleting it
and for the record my pushback was about rule two only. rule one i would enforce harder than they do
the dissenter wants stricter rules elsewhere. classic
