- escalation_anxiety — coming back to this temperature of the diluent does not matter. how fast you push it in does 16:35
- escalation_anxiety — is there any reason not to just always use 2ml 17:19
- swirl_not_shake — coming back to this i use bac water even for a single-use vial because it stings less, which is not the reason it exists 17:48
- swirl_not_shake — i swirl for about thirty seconds and then leave it. never had one fail to dissolve 18:56
my 10mg vial weighed 11.4g on the jewellery scale, is that wrong
a 3ml syringe for the diluent and a u100 for the dose is the setup most people here end up with
swirl it. do not shake it. the foam is denatured protein and you are not getting it back, i think
a slightly collapsed cake is cosmetic. a puddle in the bottom is not
bac water
is there any reason not to just always use 2ml
yep 10 units
label the vial
i write the mg/ml on the vial with a sharpie the moment i reconstitute it
round numbers
coming back to this i use bac water even for a single-use vial because it stings less, which is not the reason it exists
dead space
too dilute imo
10mg in 1ml is 10mg/ml, so 2.5mg is 25 units. thats the one i use
[edited]my rule is one concentration for everything so i never have to think about it at 7am
is it worth buying a 3ml syringe for the diluent or is the insulin one fine
write the date on
i keep a spare vial of bac water in the fridge purely so i never rush the maths
my vial pulled the water in on its own, is that the vacuum or did i do something
i swirl for about thirty seconds and then leave it. never had one fail to dissolve
the last few units are a real loss. i accept it rather than tilting the vial and drawing air
took me a year to stop over-diluting. the measurement error at 4 units is worse than the convenience
anyone got a photo of what a properly dissolved vial looks like
Purity check: no report on file for lot G-0641. Nothing logged either way.
the meniscus thing is real. read it at eye level or you are guessing by a unit either way
do not add more bac water to an already reconstituted vial, you have lost track of the concentration
if the maths gives you 13.7 units, change the volume. do not try to hit 13.7
