Highlights from this day
  • bac_water_bill — do i swirl for a specific length of time or just until its clear do not add more bac water to an already reconstituted vial, you have lost track of the concentration 17:54
  • spreadsheet_stu — swirl it. do not shake it. the foam is denatured protein and you are not getting it back 18:05
  • stack_sceptic — whats the smallest volume you would trust yourself to measure on a u100 19:58

unrelated but do you let it come to room temp before drawing or draw it cold

PB

if you draw up with a bigger pin and inject with a fresh one you lose a bit more to dead space

if you cannot read the mark confidently, your volume is too small. redo it at a lower concentration

quick one if i add 2ml to a 20mg vial what concentration am i actually at

if the powder is on the stopper, tap it down before you add anything. it will still dissolve either way

ST

unrelated but how long after reconstituting before its actually dissolved

SS

update from 3 months ago: switched to a single concentration and have not miscalculated since

AA

it should be completely clear with no floaters. cloudy means stop

[edited]

quick one is a slightly cloudy solution ever ok or is that always a bin it
i keep a spare vial of bac water in the fridge purely so i never rush the maths

how much do i lose to dead space with a 30G pin
do not add more bac water to an already reconstituted vial, you have lost track of the concentration

for the archive 20mg in 2ml is 10mg/ml. 1mg is 10 units, 2mg is 20 units, easy

my 10mg vial weighed 11.4g on the jewellery scale, is that wrong

benzyl alcohol is what makes it bacteriostatic. it is about 0.9% typically, still working it out

ST

5mg in 2ml gives 2.5mg/ml, 0.25mg is 10 units. good for a starting dose
