invoice mismatches happen. check the total against what you actually sent, not against what you meant to send
refunds do happen and they are slow and awkward. do not count on one
whats a reasonable network fee to accept
on a small order the fee can be a meaningful fraction. on a large one the discount wins easily, thats just me
paying in two parts is sometimes offered and it does not reduce your risk, it splits it
