im ashamed of needing a medication for this and i cant seem to shake it
somebody said the easy way thing to me and i just said it was not easy and changed the subject. it worked fine
thank you for saying it
if all you managed today was the dose and some water, that counts and i mean that, anyway
the escalation nerves got smaller each time for me but they never went away entirely
not the easy way
[edited]hold on if you can. week three is not the whole experience and a lot of us nearly stopped right there
it is a loss as well as a relief and you are allowed to say both of those things
did anyone else grieve food a bit
the plateau nearly ended it for me. what got me through was logging something other than my weight
thinking of you
update on the earlier thing im at month 6 and doing well and feel strangely sad about it, is that a thing
has anyone found a way to celebrate that isnt about a number
you are not the only person in here who has felt that, and i say that as somebody who was certain they were

somebody thanked me a year later for something i barely remember saying, and that is why i still read this every day
coming back after 12 months to say thank you, is that alright to do in here
slightly off topic but i get anxious the night before a dose increase, so i take it in the morning now and sleep first, someone check my working
we are a chat channel. good company, not clinicians, and it matters that we keep saying so
does anyone talk to somebody professionally about this side of it
glad youre back
i told my family at month four rather than week one, and the timing is what made it go well
be kind to yourself
thats grief honestly
youre not a fraud
update on the earlier thing my partner was not pleased at first and came round. what changed it was my blood pressure, not any argument i made
the quiet is strange isnt it
does the quiet in your head ever feel like a loss rather than a relief
[edited]it does lift
i built a whole personality around being the one who cooks and now i barely eat, does that pass
people keep commenting on my body and i hate it, how do you handle that
were not clinicians
how do you handle a partner who is not pleased about you doing this
i spent twenty years negotiating with myself about food and then the negotiation just stopped, and that took months to sit with, i could be wrong
feeling more emotional generally came up for me too and i took that to my gp rather than to a channel
that was me too
nobody in this room thinks less of you for needing a medication. genuinely nobody
the food noise going quiet is the thing people are least prepared for. i sat in the kitchen at 8pm not knowing what i was for
the identity part is the hardest thing about this and it gets talked about least, which is backwards
grieving food is real. it was my hobby, my comfort and about half of my social life
please talk to somebody
