how do you stop reading every twinge as something serious

- see_a_clinician — hold on if you can. week three is not the whole experience and a lot of us nearly stopped right there, thats one data point 20:07
- lot_number_lou — the escalation nerves got smaller each time for me but they never went away entirely 20:18
- shame_and_meds — the fraud feeling faded for me somewhere around the point i had kept it off longer than i took to lose it 20:50
i cook more now than i used to, i just eat less of it, and that compromise saved that part of me

[edited]the escalation nerves got smaller each time for me but they never went away entirely
please talk to somebody
while im here does the quiet in your head ever feel like a loss rather than a relief
the food noise going quiet is the thing people are least prepared for. i sat in the kitchen at 8pm not knowing what i was for
it does lift
the shame eased when i stopped thinking of it as a shortcut and started thinking of it as treatment
the plateau nearly ended it for me. what got me through was logging something other than my weight
the identity part is the hardest thing about this and it gets talked about least, which is backwards, someone check my working
youre not alone in that
be kind to yourself
we are a chat channel. good company, not clinicians, and it matters that we keep saying so
is anyone else more anxious about running out than about any side effect
did anyone else grieve food a bit
the fraud feeling faded for me somewhere around the point i had kept it off longer than i took to lose it
i spent twenty years negotiating with myself about food and then the negotiation just stopped, and that took months to sit with
i feel like a fraud reading the wins channel, does that go away
the disorienting bit for me was realising how much of my day had been spent thinking about the next meal
im at month 16 and doing well and feel strangely sad about it, is that a thing
my mood dipped around week five and lifted by about week ten. i cannot tell you why either of those happened
im ashamed of needing a medication for this and i cant seem to shake it
i built a whole personality around being the one who cooks and now i barely eat, does that pass
