#lab-requests 2026-02-25

Wednesday31 messages8 participantstimes are UTC
Highlights from this day
  • customs_owl — two labs on the same lot is a luxury but it is how we learned what inter-lab variance looks like, ill dig out the number 17:07
  • area_percent — quantity is the test worth paying for. purity is usually fine and fill usually is not 18:04
  • bengaluru_bac — roughly one sample in 9 rounds has gone missing in transit. budget for it emotionally, take that with a pinch of salt 18:52
AP

i keep half the sample back so there is something to send if the first one goes missing, not advice obviously

VB

Batch lookup G-0641: 9 independent reports on file, earliest 2025-05-25.

CO

update on the earlier thing submissions go out blinded. the lab gets a code, not a supplier name. that removes one variable, it is not distrust

Medutest has been the fastest for us. Janoshik has been the most detailed. those are not the same lab

two labs on the same lot is a luxury but it is how we learned what inter-lab variance looks like, ill dig out the number

CO

i coordinate the round, collect the codes, and post every result including the dull ones
send a capped syringe with enough for a rerun. the minimum is never enough if they need to repeat it

AP

we do not help with wording beyond that and the mods are strict about it

AP

if you want to know about your vial, you have to submit your vial. that is the whole answer

AP

ZZ

do we publish the raw report or a summary

LU

update from 9 months ago: the blinding process is unchanged and it has held up fine

publish the raw

in for one

QP

update on the earlier thing including a reference standard in the batch is the single best thing we ever added to this process
