we publish the raw report. summaries hide the thing you needed to see, i have it written down somewhere
#lab-requests 2025-08-05
- forty_five_kg — quick one submissions go out blinded. the lab gets a code, not a supplier name. that removes one variable, it is not distrust 19:25
- blind_submit — send a capped syringe with enough for a rerun. the minimum is never enough if they need to repeat it 19:38
- forty_five_kg — ok so a pooled result tells you about the pool. it does not tell you about your vial 20:20
- mhra_unlicensed — how much sample does the lab need for purity plus quantity 20:39
powder if you can. reconstituted travels worse and adds a variable we cannot control
label the syringe
update from 22 months ago: the blinding process is unchanged and it has held up fine
including a reference standard in the batch is the single best thing we ever added to this process
quick one submissions go out blinded. the lab gets a code, not a supplier name. that removes one variable, it is not distrust
if you want to know about your vial, you have to submit your vial. that is the whole answer
genuine question a code and a lot number on the syringe in permanent marker. that is the whole labelling requirement
how are we splitting the cost this time
send a capped syringe with enough for a rerun. the minimum is never enough if they need to repeat it
turnaround has been between 16 days and twice that depending on the queue
do you want the vial reconstituted or as powder
thats the turnaround
sorry to jump in i would rather fund one careful quantity test than three purity tests
dont send your only vial
add a standard
count me in
we do not help with wording beyond that and the mods are strict about it, ill dig out the number
ok so a pooled result tells you about the pool. it does not tell you about your vial
i keep half the sample back so there is something to send if the first one goes missing
keep half back
how much sample does the lab need for purity plus quantity
the queue is posted and updated. if your code is not on it, it did not arrive
i would rather fund one careful quantity test than three purity tests
coordinating this round
we have never had a lab mix up a sample. we have had members mix up their own labelling twice
i coordinate the round, collect the codes, and post every result including the dull ones
in for one
chain of custody in hobby testing is weak and we say so in every writeup, still working it out
queue is posted
blinded obviously
the split works from about 8 people. below that everyone pays more than the test is worth
update on the earlier thing whats the failure rate on samples actually arriving
genuine question how many people do we need before the split is worth it
whats the split
