Highlights from this day
  • deadspace — i mark the rotation in a notes app because the marks fade and i lost track twice 14:19
  • deadspace — i keep the sharps bin next to the fridge so the whole thing happens in one place 14:40
  • batch_variance — warming the vial in your hand for a minute is the cheapest comfort improvement there is 15:59
  • VialBot — Inter-lab diff for lot E-2205: 98.6% vs 99.4%. Within expected range. 16:02
  • batch_variance — a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call the difference between 29G and 31G is real but small. the difference… 18:27

i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror

update from 3 months ago: switched to a fixed rotation and the site reactions stopped

rotate

DE

update on the earlier thing do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass

let the alcohol dry. that is ninety percent of "my injections sting", we shall see

cold from the fridge genuinely stings more. i let it sit out for ten minutes

i keep the sharps bin next to the fridge so the whole thing happens in one place

i changed nothing except letting the swab dry and the stinging stopped completely

warm it first

does injecting a cold vial hurt more or am i imagining it
90 degrees works fine if you have the tissue for it. 45 if you do not

31G 8mm

VB

Inter-lab diff for lot E-2205: 98.6% vs 99.4%. Within expected range.

PS

a proper sharps bin costs almost nothing and pharmacies will take it back

31G 8mm for everything. i tried the 12.7mm once and never went back, your mileage will differ

nobody here should be telling you where to inject. we can tell you what we do

PS

drawing up with the same pin you inject with is fine, it just dulls the tip slightly

LL

sorry to jump in absorption differences between subcutaneous sites are small for a weekly compound

PS

whats your sharps disposal setup, mine is a jar and i know thats wrong

do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for

BV

update on the earlier thing is bruising more about the needle or the aftercare
