Highlights from this day
  • taper_or_not — a small air bubble subcutaneously is not dangerous. it costs you dose accuracy, thats the reason to clear it 15:50
  • tarpit_tam — i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction 16:22
  • drawup_dee — nobody here should be telling you where to inject. we can tell you what we do 17:53
TT

i have eight sites and an eight week rotation. it is written on the fridge

thats normal

how slowly should you actually push

TT

do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass

right so coming back after 21 months, has the pinned technique guide changed

FT

bleeding a little means you nicked a small vessel. it is not a technique failure, happy to be corrected

TO

TT

welts at the site are usually a mild local reaction and rotation sorts it

31G 8mm

push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards

DD

absorption differences between subcutaneous sites are small for a weekly compound

U1

drawing up with the same pin you inject with is fine, it just dulls the tip slightly

DD

do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for

PP

31G 8mm for everything. i tried the 12.7mm once and never went back, i have it written down somewhere

i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror

warm it first

TO

cold from the fridge genuinely stings more. i let it sit out for ten minutes
