Highlights from this day
  • assay_not_purity — a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call 17:38
  • pinch_not_stretch — 90 degrees works fine if you have the tissue for it. 45 if you do not 17:45
  • swab_dry_first — i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction 20:56

i have eight sites and an eight week rotation. it is written on the fridge

dont recap

AN

genuine question i changed nothing except letting the swab dry and the stinging stopped completely

AN

31G 8mm for everything. i tried the 12.7mm once and never went back
abdomen two inches out from the navel, avoiding anything that has been injected in the last month

a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call

the difference between 29G and 31G is real but small. the difference between wet and dry alcohol is not small, someone check my working

45 degrees

anyone got a rotation map they would share

OA

whats your sharps disposal setup, mine is a jar and i know thats wrong

VB

Purity check: no report on file for lot KP-0925. Nothing logged either way.

SD

update on the earlier thing cold from the fridge genuinely stings more. i let it sit out for ten minutes

sharps bin

abdomen two inches out from the navel, avoiding anything that has been injected in the last month

OA

coming back after 3 months, has the pinned technique guide changed
do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for

welts at the site are usually a mild local reaction and rotation sorts it

PN

coming back to this do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for, i think

AA

warming the vial in your hand for a minute is the cheapest comfort improvement there is, your mileage will differ

SD

do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass

i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction

mark it down

let it dry
