Highlights from this day
  • freeze_thaw — slightly off topic but i keep getting a small welt at the site, technique or reaction 19:39
  • cold_start_cy — i changed nothing except letting the swab dry and the stinging stopped completely 20:39
  • VialBot — New independent result logged — GL Biochem, lot C-4402, purity 98.6% (Janoshik). 20:48
  • freeze_thaw — coming back after 10 months, has the pinned technique guide changed 20:51

absorption differences between subcutaneous sites are small for a weekly compound

how slowly should you actually push

VB

Verification log updated: GL Biochem — evidence added, status unchanged.

WV

ok so pinch, 45 degrees, count to five, withdraw slowly. two years and almost no bruising

i keep the sharps bin next to the fridge so the whole thing happens in one place

VV

31G 8mm for everything. i tried the 12.7mm once and never went back

push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards, anyway

a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call

VV

anyone inject in the back of the arm on their own successfully

i have eight sites and an eight week rotation. it is written on the fridge

CS

nobody here should be telling you where to inject. we can tell you what we do

CS

if you are getting a lot of bruising, look at how fast you are pushing before you blame the needle

90 degrees works fine if you have the tissue for it. 45 if you do not

i changed nothing except letting the swab dry and the stinging stopped completely

SS

do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass

coming back after 10 months, has the pinned technique guide changed

i mark the rotation in a notes app because the marks fade and i lost track twice
