- belfast_bac — do you count to five before withdrawing i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror 18:43
- taper_or_not — the needle went in fine but it stung going in, alcohol or the compound 19:17
thats normal
pinch
[edited]while im here do not reuse pins. it is not about sterility so much as the tip being blunt after one pass
quick one bleeding a little means you nicked a small vessel. it is not a technique failure
try the thigh
a proper sharps bin costs almost nothing and pharmacies will take it back
do you pinch or stretch
how do you avoid hitting the same spot twice when the marks fade
do not aspirate for a subcutaneous injection, there is nothing to aspirate for
a fresh pin for the injection hurts less. whether thats worth the extra dead space is your call, n of 1 obviously
push slowly. fast is what causes the ache afterwards
update from 13 months ago: switched to a fixed rotation and the site reactions stopped
mark it down
push slow
let it dry
90 degrees or 45
unrelated but i changed nothing except letting the swab dry and the stinging stopped completely
technique probably
never recap a used pin. that is how people stick themselves
how many sites are in your rotation
do you count to five before withdrawing
i inject the back of my own arm and it is awkward but doable with a mirror
how far from the navel is actually far enough
whats your sharps disposal setup, mine is a jar and i know thats wrong
the needle went in fine but it stung going in, alcohol or the compound
nobody here should be telling you where to inject. we can tell you what we do
coming back after 14 months, has the pinned technique guide changed
absorption differences between subcutaneous sites are small for a weekly compound
