Highlights from this day
  • gip_glp_gil — in germany the split is privat versus kasse. a private prescription means you pay the pharmacy price yourself and when i checked last year that was a lot, from memory 13:09
  • cat_on_the_tray — as of about a year ago statutory cover in germany for weight indications still was not there, so check before quoting me on it 13:33
  • cat_on_the_tray — pharmacy prices in germany were fairly uniform when i checked because of how they are regulated. in spain they varied much more, your mileage will differ 14:09
  • fasting_insulin — netherlands was reported in here at around 200 euros a month out of pocket a year or so ago, with conditions attached to any reimbursement 14:12
  • cat_on_the_tray — you can carry a personal quantity between eu countries in practice. the rules on quantity and prescription vary and i would not rely on my reading of them 18:18
GG

is vat charged on a parcel coming into the eu and how much are we talking

CO

vat on imports from outside the eu applied from a very low threshold when i last imported, and the carrier handling fee was bigger than the vat

MO

i keep a note of what i paid each month because the number moves and my memory of it does not

transit inside the eu was 8 days for me door to door, which is faster than anything i have had from outside it

MO

update from 24 months ago: nothing changed on reimbursement where i am and the price went up anyway

GG

a swedish member put their monthly cost at roughly double what a polish member was paying, as of last year

GG

while im here how does a pharmacy handle it if you have no local insurance at all

CO

as of about a year ago statutory cover in germany for weight indications still was not there, so check before quoting me on it

CO

what happens if a parcel gets picked up entering the eu
any figure in this channel should be read as the month somebody typed it, not as the price today

privat means you pay

CO

a german member reported paying around 300 euros a month privately in 2024. one person, one dose, one pharmacy

CO

right so the price for the same dose in two eu countries differed by about forty percent in the one careful comparison i have seen in here, we shall see

MO

sorry to jump in is the price the same across pharmacies in a country or does it vary a lot

MO

how are people managing when support only speaks one language and it isnt yours

CO

the honest position is that eu reimbursement is a moving target and nothing said in here stays true for a year

MO

german pharmacies will order in what they do not stock. mine took three working days when i asked in 2024

the language barrier with support is real. i write in short plain english and it works better than good english does

poland was cheapest
