Highlights from this day
  • power_through_no — most of the lipid improvement in my panel tracked the weight, not the drug 14:33
  • lot_number_lou — if your glucose is in mg/dL the divisor is 405. if it is mmol/L it is 22.5 14:39
  • tail_factor — my alt has come down a lot since i started losing, is that expected 15:26
  • ferritin_fay — get fasting insulin at baseline. you cannot go back and get it once you have started, still working it out 16:58
SS

if you only get one thing, get a fasting insulin. it is the one that becomes impossible later

👍3🧪5

thats normal

OO

update on the earlier thing update from 19 months ago: a1c down, apob unchanged, and i am genuinely annoyed about the apob

LM

a small egfr dip is often dehydration. rehydrate and retest before you panic

PT

most of the lipid improvement in my panel tracked the weight, not the drug

SS

fast properly or do not bother. an eight hour fast and a twelve hour fast are different tests

🧪11

homa-ir is fasting glucose times fasting insulin over a constant. the constant differs by unit system

LN

if your glucose is in mg/dL the divisor is 405. if it is mmol/L it is 22.5

TestWhy now
Fasting insulinimpossible to get a true baseline afterwards
Full lipid panel with apoBthe comparison is the whole point
HbA1c90-day average, so it lags your start
CMP + CBCcheap, and the reference for everything after
Ferritin, B12, TSHthese fall quietly on a low intake
A1

do you fast for the full 12 hours or is 8 enough

lab error maybe

15💀1🙏3

apob if you can

baseline, three months, then twice a year is what i settled on

see somebody

my alt has come down a lot since i started losing, is that expected

alt and ast coming down as you lose liver fat is common and is a good sign
the FLOW result is why my nephrologist changed her position on this entirely

VB

Verification log updated: GGPeps — evidence added, status unchanged.

TF

i pay privately for fasting insulin because nobody will order it for me otherwise

too early for a1c

🙏17🔥10

coming back to this anyone have before and after numbers they are willing to post

PT

the most useful thing i did was get a full panel before i started. everything since has been comparable

what should i get at baseline before i start

[edited]
VB

Assay note: CPC lot C-4402 reported at 99.4% of label content.

FF

a1c is a ninety day average. retesting at week six tells you almost nothing

SS

follow up fasting insulin came back higher than i expected, what does that actually mean

SS

my potassium came back weird and the retest was normal, whats that about

do you get bloods every 7 months or only when something changes

SS

ferritin and b12 fall quietly when you are barely eating. check them twice a year

FF

get fasting insulin at baseline. you cannot go back and get it once you have started, still working it out
