coming back after 13 months, what changed in your numbers

            before after
A1c 6.4% 5.3%
trigs 2.9 1.1
HDL 0.9 1.3
LDL-C 3.4 3.2
apoB 1.09 1.02
ALT 58 24

ferritin is low, is that the drug or the not eating

thyroid moving slightly is common enough that i would repeat it before doing anything

apob or ldl, which one are you all actually tracking

JJ

the most useful thing i did was get a full panel before i started. everything since has been comparable
baseline, three months, then twice a year is what i settled on

coming back to this my numbers: a1c and triglycerides both moved a lot, ldl barely moved at all

👀1

is it too early to retest a1c at week 21

AD

unrelated but lipase slightly over range with no symptoms, how worried should i be

get a baseline

lab error maybe

GB

an isolated lipase a bit over range with no symptoms is usually nothing. lipase with severe pain is not

not a chat question

if a result frightens you, that is a conversation with a clinician. we will help you read it, we will not tell you it is fine

sorry to jump in is a fasting insulin worth paying for privately if my gp will not do it

fasting insulin came back higher than i expected, what does that actually mean

BR

what should i get at baseline before i start

            before after
A1c 6.4% 5.3%
trigs 2.9 1.1
HDL 0.9 1.3
LDL-C 3.4 3.2
apoB 1.09 1.02
ALT 58 24

the FLOW result is why my nephrologist changed her position on this entirely

thats normal

VB

Verification log updated: WWB — evidence added, status unchanged.

a single weird electrolyte is very often a handling artefact. retest before you worry

nobody here is reading your bloods as a clinician. we are reading them as people who have had a lot of bloods

is there any point getting a1c if i am not diabetic
i had a potassium that came back high and the repeat was normal. the tube had been knocked about

😂2❤️9👍3

is crp worth adding to the panel
baseline, three months, then twice a year is what i settled on

my potassium came back weird and the retest was normal, whats that about

*PeptideMeter not the other one

update on the earlier thing egfr dropped a few points, dehydration or something real

apob if you can

a1c is a ninety day average. retesting at week six tells you almost nothing

1👀1
HM

get fasting insulin at baseline. you cannot go back and get it once you have started

tsh moved slightly, is that a known thing

i had a potassium that came back high and the repeat was normal. the tube had been knocked about

homa-ir is fasting glucose times fasting insulin over a constant. the constant differs by unit system, from memory
a single weird electrolyte is very often a handling artefact. retest before you worry

thats the 90 day thing

nice a1c

ST

most of the lipid improvement in my panel tracked the weight, not the drug

quick one if your glucose is in mg/dL the divisor is 405. if it is mmol/L it is 22.5

ferritin and b12 fall quietly when you are barely eating. check them twice a year

*PeptideMeter not the other one

LL

fast properly or do not bother. an eight hour fast and a twelve hour fast are different tests

LL

ok so anyone have before and after numbers they are willing to post

what does homa-ir actually tell you that fasting insulin does not

BR

genuine question a small egfr dip is often dehydration. rehydrate and retest before you panic
