Highlights from this day
  • identity_shift — what should i get at baseline before i start 23:04
  • week_three_wall — what does homa-ir actually tell you that fasting insulin does not 23:17
  • lisbon_lot — quick one a1c is a ninety day average. retesting at week six tells you almost nothing, happy to be corrected 23:22
  • VialBot — New independent result logged — Homopeptide, lot H-2814, purity 97.4% (Janoshik). 23:41
SF

ok so an isolated lipase a bit over range with no symptoms is usually nothing. lipase with severe pain is not

thats normal

OO

triglycerides halved. is that the weight or the compound

SF

most of the lipid improvement in my panel tracked the weight, not the drug
baseline, three months, then twice a year is what i settled on

KF

fasting insulin came back higher than i expected, what does that actually mean

VL

ferritin and b12 fall quietly when you are barely eating. check them twice a year, n of 1 obviously
if a result frightens you, that is a conversation with a clinician. we will help you read it, we will not tell you it is fine

my b12 is borderline, supplementing or eating differently

            before after
A1c 6.4% 5.3%
trigs 2.9 1.1
HDL 0.9 1.3
LDL-C 3.4 3.2
apoB 1.09 1.02
ALT 58 24
2

apob is the better marker and it is harder to get. i track both because i can only get one reliably, someone check my working

VL

my numbers: a1c and triglycerides both moved a lot, ldl barely moved at all

nice a1c

my alt has come down a lot since i started losing, is that expected

homa-ir is fasting glucose times fasting insulin over a constant. the constant differs by unit system

lab error maybe

apob if you can

nobody here is reading your bloods as a clinician. we are reading them as people who have had a lot of bloods

probably dehydration

update from 8 months ago: a1c down, apob unchanged, and i am genuinely annoyed about the apob

not a chat question

a small egfr dip is often dehydration. rehydrate and retest before you panic

baseline, three months, then twice a year is what i settled on

is crp worth adding to the panel
the most useful thing i did was get a full panel before i started. everything since has been comparable

alt and ast coming down as you lose liver fat is common and is a good sign

what does homa-ir actually tell you that fasting insulin does not

🧪18📉6🙏5

thyroid moving slightly is common enough that i would repeat it before doing anything

LL

quick one a1c is a ninety day average. retesting at week six tells you almost nothing, happy to be corrected

🙏15📉7😂1

a single weird electrolyte is very often a handling artefact. retest before you worry, ill dig out the number

my potassium came back weird and the retest was normal, whats that about

the most useful thing i did was get a full panel before i started. everything since has been comparable

thats a big move

fast properly or do not bother. an eight hour fast and a twelve hour fast are different tests
