Highlights from this day
  • group_buy_gwen — if your glucose is in mg/dL the divisor is 405. if it is mmol/L it is 22.5, ill dig out the number 23:04
  • group_buy_gwen — fasting insulin came back higher than i expected, what does that actually mean 23:31
  • nausea_window — slightly off topic but what does homa-ir actually tell you that fasting insulin does not 23:42

a small egfr dip is often dehydration. rehydrate and retest before you panic

DD

homa-ir is fasting glucose times fasting insulin over a constant. the constant differs by unit system, n of 1 obviously

GB

a1c is a ninety day average. retesting at week six tells you almost nothing

DD

the FLOW result is why my nephrologist changed her position on this entirely

is it too early to retest a1c at week 7

crp is worth adding if you can, it moves in a useful direction on this

if you only get one thing, get a fasting insulin. it is the one that becomes impossible later

do you get bloods every 7 months or only when something changes

thats the 90 day thing

📈3👀13

do you fast for the full 12 hours or is 8 enough

*that should say weekly

DD

sorry to jump in anyone had a result that turned out to be a lab error

fast properly or do not bother. an eight hour fast and a twelve hour fast are different tests

lab error maybe

fasting insulin came back higher than i expected, what does that actually mean

update from 5 months ago: a1c down, apob unchanged, and i am genuinely annoyed about the apob

NW

slightly off topic but what does homa-ir actually tell you that fasting insulin does not

💀2📉16⚠️16

ferritin and b12 fall quietly when you are barely eating. check them twice a year
